Campbell River's only movie theatre is closing its doors, an employee at Landmark Cinemas confirmed.

The social media rumours are true: Campbell River's only movie theatre is closing its doors, an employee at Landmark Cinemas confirmed.

Comments in a Campbell River Facebook group dated Oct. 24 indicated the theatre would close January of 2025. The Mirror reached out for confirmation, which was provided, but no additional details were released at this time.

Aside from an independent movie theatre in Port McNeill, which also acts as a theatre for the performing arts and does not screen new releases, there are no other movie theatres on the north island.

More to come ...
