Saanich Earth Day Festival (April 19)
The family-friendly Saanich Earth Day Festival celebrates sustainability and how small everyday changes can collectively make a positive impact. With live music, food trucks, a bike skills course, art activities and an interactive vendor village, it’s a great way to spend hours outdoors while connecting with local green businesses and initiatives. Find the festival in the parking lot behind Saanich Municipal Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Easter Egg Hunts Around the City
For families in search of a fun egg hunt, here are a few to check out:
Lion’s Easter Eggstravaganza at Bullen Park in Esquimalt (April 19): This annual event is a local favourite, with egg hunts divided by age groups. Little ones (1–5 years) can search for eggs from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., while older kids (6–9 years) will have their hunt from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tweens (10–14 years) can join in from 12:30 to 1 p.m. After the hunt, enjoy a BBQ and other fun activities.
Peninsula Celebrations Society’s Easter Egg Hunt at Dominion Brook Park (April 20): Perfect for kids on the Peninsula, eggs will be scattered across the park while the Easter Bunny will be on hand for a visit. The hunt begins promptly at 1 p.m.
Families are invited to Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park on Saturday, April 19 for the 26th annual Easter Egg Hunt. The event welcomes little ones and their parents at 10 a.m. near the filter beds, and the egg hunt is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
Bilston Creek Farm Easter Celebration (April 19–20) in Metchosin: For something different, check out this farm-based event featuring egg hunts, baby animal encounters, and fun farm activities. It’s the perfect chance to explore the countryside and celebrate Easter in a unique way.
Victoria Royals return to action (April 18)
The Royals continue their post-season run on home ice with a pivotal Game 4 matchup against the Spokane Chiefs. Spokane poses a tough challenge, carrying two NHL first-round picks in Berkly Catton and Andrew Cristall. Victoria is aiming to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history. From April 13-20, around 40 Victoria bars and pubs and 20 distilleries and producers will participate in the first Victoria Cocktail Week, offering signature cocktails and leading tours and workshops, all while Victorians explore the creativity and culture of the craft.
