Annual festival fills Saanich’s HCP gardens with art and music

The event is the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific’s biggest fundraiser

Large crowds gathered at the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific (HCP) during its 27th annual Arts and Music in the Gardens festival.

The event took place on Saturday (Aug. 12) and Sunday and featured art, music, plant vendors, food and more.

“It’s a very local, cool and fun festival,” event coordinator Barbara Pack said. “It’s been really nice to see all these people come out again and enjoy everything here.”

The event is the non-profit’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

“The money we raise will go back to the gardens at the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific,” Pack said. “This event will help make this place even better.”

There were three stages and 17 artists or musical groups that performed at the festival.

The event is also a great opportunity for attendees to check out the gardens.

“We encourage people to come visit the gardens whenever you can,” Pack added.
