The 2024 gingerbread showcase at the Hotel Grand Pacific to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Victoria.

Homes for All is the theme of this year’s visually tasty holiday tradition for Habitat Victoria.

Bakers can register now for the 17th Gingerbread Showcase fundraiser, presented by Peninsula Co-op and hosted at Hotel Grand Pacific.

Open to home chefs, professional bakers, artists, designers, architects, and baking fans of all ages, spots are limited and tend to fill up quickly.

The theme embraces welcoming places where everyone feels they belong – surrounded by comfort, connection and warmth. The theme fits well with the charity it supports. Habitat for Humanity Victoria helps families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership. Founded in 1990, Habitat Victoria has built 34 homes and served 38 families in the Capital Regional District to date.

Habitat invites bakers to explore Homes for All with a creation made of entirely edible ingredients that fits on a two-by-two-foot base and is at least 18 inches tall. Creations fill a show at the Hotel Grand Pacific for in-person visits and online for viewing and voting from Nov. 21 through Jan. 4, 2026.

Viewers vote for their favourite by making a donation to Habitat for Humanity Victoria – helping local families to build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership. Along with the People’s Choice Award – determined by the votes – a panel of judges will award best first impression, best uses of skill and technique, best interpretation of the theme, most creative and original, and most diverse uses of ingredients.
