Matthew Atkinson is a very active soon-to-be 12 year old who is looking forward to entering Grade 7 this fall at Dunsmuir middle school in Colwood. He loves playing all sports, including football, hockey, basketball and lacrosse with his friends.

In school, Matthew’s favourite subject is physical education. He also helped younger students at his school by being a Big Buddy.

He played football with the Westshore Warriors for a few seasons, winning the Gold Cup in 2010. He has recently taken up both box and field lacrosse. This past box lacrosse season, he played for the Juan de Fuca Whalers pee wee ‘A’ team. They had an incredibly successful season and capped it by winning the gold medal at the 2014 Provincial Championships in Richmond in July.
