Making a detour from the usual parade route did nothing to dampen the spirits of the more than 80 Pride Parade entrants who made a detour on Broughton Street because of emergency repairs to a gas line in front of the Fairmont Empress Hotel. The parade made it's way to MacDonald Park in James Bay for a festival that included entertainment, a kids camp, vendors selling food and wares, a beer garden and an on-site Pride House that hosted about a dozen support organizations.
