Curated clothing and accessories, personal care products and upcycled organics soaps are all set for a Victoria market to help raise funds and the public profile of Soap For Hope Canada.
Victoria shoppers can now thrift with purpose while discovering hidden treasures at the Second Hand Hope pop-up at Market Square (unit #120 on Johnson Street), culled and collected through its partnerships with more than 60 hotels, including the Fairmont Empress, Delta Hotels Ocean Pointe, and Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
“We’re excited to bring Second Hand Hope to Market Square,” C. Anne McIntyre, founder and executive for Soap for Hope Canada, said in a news release. “Every purchase supports our mission to change lives by providing hope and dignity through hygiene, while letting shoppers find incredible items at affordable prices.
Soap for Hope Canada aims to eradicate hygiene poverty by providing access to essential products to improve the health, hope and dignity of vulnerable people. Partnering primarily with the hotel industry, the charity collects gently used hygiene products, linens, and lost-and-found items repurposed for distribution to people in need across B.C. and Alberta.
Second Hand Hope is the only store in Canada that transforms lost-and-found items from top hotels into opportunities to fund local impact while diverting quality goods from the landfill, according to the non-profit.
The popup is open Aug. 12 to 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Learn more at soapforhopecanada.ca.
