Set to captivate attendees, this vibrant event will happen from Aug. 25 to 27 and Sept. 1 to 4, with daily festivities running from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Greek Community Centre, 4648 Elk Lake Dr. in Saanich.

Anticipation is running high for this year’s Greek Fest, a celebration that promises to immerse visitors in the enchanting tapestry of Greek cuisine and culture. A rich lineup of live performances will grace the event’s daily schedule. Whether you opt for the dine-in atmosphere or the convenience of takeout, you can do online ordering at greekfest.ca.

Spanning an array of delectable options, the festival’s culinary offerings embody the true essence of Greece. From authentic appetizers and mains to mouth-watering desserts, baked goods and refreshing beverages, a culinary voyage awaits.

Noteworthy highlights encompass the cherished roasted lamb, sizzling souvlaki, savoury spanakopita, irresistible baklava, delectable loukoumades, and beyond. As a nod to libation enthusiasts, the event secures a license, joined by esteemed beverage sponsors Hoyne Brewery and Arterra Wines.

Complementing the gastronomic revelry, the Greek Heritage Museum will be featured during the festival. Delving into Greece’s storied past and the journey of Greeks in B.C., this space will showcase authentic artifacts and narratives. Guided tours, led by a knowledgeable local Greek historian, will be offered daily at 2 and 6 p.m., presenting an immersive opportunity for exploration. Mask usage during tours remains discretionary.

Beyond the flavours and historical exploration, the essence of Greek Fest lies in fostering a sense of community akin to ancient Greek festivals. A celebration brimming with the spirit of family, camaraderie, and philoxenia – generosity towards strangers – Greek Fest continues a time-honoured tradition.

Admission to Greek Fest is free.
