PHOTOS: Holiday celebrations illuminate Langford's downtown

The Langford Light Up and the truck parade made its way through the West Shore

Thousands of residents and visitors gathered in Langford's downtown for an evening of holiday cheer despite the pouring rain.

On Saturday, Dec. 7, the city held the annual Langford Light Up at Veterans Memorial Park and Langford Station, which was then followed by the roar of dozens of trucks and floats for the Island Equipment Owners Association truck parade.

The Light Up featured vendors, food and hot chocolate, crafts, balloon artists, performances from local musicians, and a visit from Saint Nick himself.

The parade, which was also celebrating the association's 60th anniversary, paraded throughout the South Island with trucks wrapped in an assortment of colourful lights and some Christmas-themed floats.

The parade started in James Bay, Victoria. After making its way through Oak Bay, View Royal and Colwood, it went through Langford before ending on Ryder Hesjedal Way.
