A new organization raising awareness and empowerment for those with diabetes hosts a public event Saturday (May 17) in Saanich.

The Healing Hands for Diabetes event includes speakers, wellness sessions and practical tools to support diabetes prevention and management.

“At Healing Hands for Diabetes Foundation, we are dedicated to delivering compassionate, community-based care with a focus on awareness, access, and empowerment, particularly for underserved populations,” said representative Manish Prajapati. “Our mission is to offer support, education, and resources that enable effective prevention and management of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.”

The organization aims to provide support, offering access to diagnostic tools, essential medications, and personal guidance. It also plans outreach programs and awareness campaigns.

Awareness to Action runs Saturday, May 17, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Cedar Hall at Saanich Commonwealth Place, 4636 Elk Lake Dr.
