Peanut butter is a consistent need on food bank shelves.
A staple in many households, it’s a sought after item as a source of protein.
This Friday, Save on Foods offers customers a chance to buy a Western Family peanut butter and Save on Foods will donate a second to a local food bank. The offer starts Friday, Dec. 1 and runs through to Dec. 7 while supplies last.
In BC in 2016, food banks helped 103,464 people, 32.2 per cent of them children according to the annual Hunger Count. 2017 has yet to be released.
All peanut butter donated locally goes to food banks in Greater Victoria.
