Several baby ducks remain in care, and on camera, at Wild ARC in Metchosin, while others were released back into the wild this week.

The latest critter cam stars out of the BC SPCA rehab site in Metchosin are doing “swimmingly” well with some already settled back into home waters.

At the start of the month the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (Wild ARC) saw 50 mallard ducklings arrive in need of specialized care.

“We are happy to announce they are doing ‘swimmingly’ well – some have already been released, and others are practicing the skills they need to thrive in the wild,” the agency said in an update. “Soon, they will be ready to return to their wild home like this group of mallards that were released just last week.”

In the meantime, those left behind, along with some of their goose pals, are starring on the Wild ARC critter cam frequently set up in different animal enclosures. Find the live feed at spca.bc.ca/programs-services/wildlife-rehabilitation/wild-arc-critter-cam.
