Gordy Dodd’s fifth annual Walk for Peace was held last Sunday and managed to raise more than $30,000.
The recipient this year was Victoria Hospice’s Touchstones counseling program, which helps young people through the grieving process.
A total of $28,000 was donated by the Telus Victoria Community Board and Dodd’s Furniture, with remaining funds being donated by participants.
The walk took place at Beacon Hill Park, and was inspired by Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, who walked across South Asia and the Middle East promoting peace.
