Broadmead Care Society (Victoria)

About Nigel House
Tucked into the trees just steps from Uptown Shopping Centre in Victoria, Nigel House is home to 26 adults aged 19 to 55 who require long-term, 24-hour care. But Nigel House is more than just a residence—it’s a thriving community built on dignity, connection, and compassion. Every person who lives here is supported to live as fully and independently as possible, with access to personalized care, daily programming, nourishing home-cooked meals, and meaningful relationships.

Our residents include individuals with physical and developmental disabilities who benefit from both the peaceful natural setting and the active, inclusive spirit that defines life at Nigel House. Whether it’s a quiet afternoon in the garden, a creative workshop, or a group outing into the city, each day here offers opportunities to grow, connect, and be seen for who you are.

The heart of Nigel House is our belief in belonging. We foster an environment where every resident is treated with respect and encouraged to participate in the life of the home in ways that are empowering and engaging. Care is not only provided—it is personalized, thoughtful, and rooted in the understanding that each person’s story matters.

Nigel House is one of two Broadmead Care Homes operating under the Nigel Program. The home has served the community for decades, but the building itself has outgrown its ability to meet the evolving needs of the people we support. That’s why we are moving forward with a vision: a brand-new Nigel House, designed from the ground up to provide a more modern, accessible, and uplifting home for current and future residents. This new home will be built on the adjacent property and will include improved spaces for care, connection, and comfort.

We invite you to join us in this exciting and vital project. Your support can help transform Nigel House into a space that truly reflects the warmth and potential of the community within its walls—a place where everyone can feel at home.

Here, care is compassionate. Lives are enriched. And every person is valued.
