Christmas concert set to rekindle holiday spirit for 21st year in Victoria

Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM) will present the 21st annual Home for Christmas concert at Victoria’s Royal Theatre on Dec. 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. 

Led by musician and teacher Daniel Lapp, the concert will feature performances by the B.C. Fiddle Orchestra, Folkestra!, the Joy of Life Choir, and local professional musicians appearing as the Shiny H’ornaments, Strings of Lights, and Swing’n Shepherds house band.

Special guests for this year’s concert include broadcaster and author Grant Lawrence and Juno-nominated singer-songwriter Jill Barber. Lawrence is known for his books and music, with his latest children’s book Adventures in Desolation Sound set for release in 2024. Barber, a Gold-certified artist from Vancouver, is known for her work in folk, jazz, and pop and will represent Canada at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.

Home for Christmas brings together music lovers, students, and VCM alumni to perform holiday-inspired music. Proceeds from the concert support VCM’s music education and wellness programs, ensuring accessibility to programs and the joy of music for all participants.
