The middle of January launches a new whisky year with the return of the Victoria Whisky Festival.
With an expanded program of offerings, there are still a few single tickets and packages available for the festival weekend Jan. 16 to 19.
“The Victoria Whisky Festival remains highly regarded around the world and the distilleries are continuing to attend and connect with our knowledgeable, enthusiastic attendees,” festival president Frank Hudson said in a news release. “There is an enthusiasm for the craftsmanship and for the diversity that can be found at the festival that keeps distilleries coming back.”
Tickets available include a couple for the VIP tasting on the Saturday, a much-coveted event that gives exclusive first access to whiskies featured at the Consumer Tasting.
More than 50 distilleries represent 12 countries including Scotland, Ireland, England, Canada, United States, Japan, Taiwan, India, Finland, Switzerland, France and for the first time at the Victoria Whisky Festival – China.
Gisbelle Distillery, from Yantai, China, will be in attendance to present their whisky aged in Oriental Diao Castle Mongolian Oak casks. They will explain how their combination of traditional whisky-making craftsmanship and modern, innovative distillation techniques creates their distinctive, rich flavour profile that is starting to capture the world’s attention.
A small selection of tickets are available for Whisky and Chocolate (for women only) with chocolates crafted by Fathom. The whiskies selected have a connection to women in their production and emphasize the growing role of women in the industry. A small number of tickets for distilleries from around the world are still available ranging from Scotland and Ireland to India, France and the United States.

The four-day Victoria Whisky Festival is held annually at the Hotel Grand Pacific including the Canadian Whisky Awards on Jan. 18 –recognizing the best in the industry.
The 2024 Victoria Whisky Festival raised over $40,000 for local charitable organizations.
