Victoria audiences will soon have the chance to enjoy A Rocky Mountain High Christmas, a holiday concert featuring the music of John Denver, set to take place at Farquhar Auditorium at UVic on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
Headlined by Canadian recording artists Rick and Steve Worrall, the event will feature the Rocky Mountain High Philharmonic Orchestra, alongside guests Melina Schein, Paul Rossetti, and the Sing Your Joy choir.
A Canadian all-star band will join the lineup to perform Denver’s classic hits as well as Christmas songs, including those from his Rocky Mountain Christmas album and his TV special with the Muppets.
The tribute aims to celebrate Denver’s music, with arrangements by Denver’s longtime friend and conductor, Lee Holdridge. Rather than imitating the late artist, the production focuses on his musical legacy, allowing audiences to experience Denver’s work in its original style.
Tickets for the event start at $53 and are available through the UVic box office. For more information and ticket purchase, visit the event’s page at shorturl.at/XcW56
