A new Lifetime movie is being filmed in Sidney.

Residents of Sidney have noticed an increase in film production trucks and activity around town and it's all for a good reason: a new movie, If I Run, is currently being filmed in various locations throughout the town.

Based on the New York Times bestselling book by Terri Blackstock, the production began on April 24 and is being brought to life by Lighthouse Pictures and Fezziwig Studios, the same company behind the popular Netflix series Ransom Canyon.

If I Run is slated to air on Lifetime Canada.

The production team is currently housed at the vacant Sidney-Anacortes Ferry terminal, conveniently located near Tulista Park.

A schedule of filming locations, has been released by The Town of Sidney, which include:

April 24-29: 2475 Bevan Rd., 2537 Beacon Ave. and 9646 Sixth St.

Until April 30: 2400 block of Beacon Avenue

May 1: 2339 Orchard Ave.

May 2: 2340 Weiler Ave.

Filming is expected to continue in Sidney until Monday, May 6, after which the production will move to Victoria.

The production has made a concerted effort to support the local economy, with a significant portion of the crew being hired from the Sidney area.

According to a crew member, the location shoot provides a welcome boost to local businesses.

Another film production is scheduled to begin in Sidney sometime in June.

The Town of Sidney and the production crew extend their gratitude to the residents for their patience and understanding during the filming process.
