Singer Joe Cocker has died at age 70, his manager Barrie Marshall confirmed on Monday (BBC News).
"He was without the doubt the greatest rock/soul voice ever to come out of Britain and remained the same man throughout his life," Marshall said. "Anyone who ever saw him live will never forget him."
England's Yorkshire Post said Cocker passed away from lung cancer, in his home in Crawford, Colorado. Cocker was born in Sheffield, England in 1944 and had lived in the United States since the 1970's.
Cocker was most famous for his cover of The Beatles' 'With a Little Help From My Friends', which he performed at Woodstock in New York in 1969, as well as hits like 'You Are So Beautiful', the Grammy-winning 'Up Where We Belong', and 'Feelin' Alright'.
