Getting out in nature is often a pastime sought during spring break, and a local attraction with a spectacular view aims to make that easier on the pocketbook.
Set in the south Island wilderness, Malahat SkyWalk offers an immersive experience with a 10-storey spiral tower that starts in the trees and ends in the sky.
It includes an adventure net and spiral slide for the return trip and for two weeks this month, kids visit free, with the purchase of an adult ticket.
“We are delighted to offer families an affordable way to experience Malahat SkyWalk, a truly authentic Vancouver Island adventure, this spring break,” general manager Nathan Bird said in a news release. “With live music, fun activities, great food, and some of the best views in Canada, there’s no better way to spend your holiday locally.”
Alongside food, live music and a fire pit for cozy evenings, the SkyWalk gift shop highlights B.C. artisans. The newly elevated gift shop now features a more enhanced collection of local and west coast inspired items including, handcrafted jewelry, clothing and tasty treats.
The attraction has logged more than 800,000 visits since opening in July 2021 with many a local among the global visitors.
Vancouver Island residents can take advantage of the SkySaver annual pass program now through March 30. Residents get year-round unlimited visits, along with an array of exclusive benefits – for the cost of a single admission.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to the Victoria/Vancouver Island market, we are excited to bring back our SkySaver Annual Pass program for local residents,” Bird said. “This year, we have enhanced our program with even more benefits so that pass holders can take advantage of multiple savings, experience all of our seasonal events, and discover something new and exciting each time they visit.”
