The Scattered Artists Summer Tour is returning to 11 locations across Saanich showcasing the work of 34 artists.
Greater Victoria residents are invited to enjoy a variety of art forms, including fine art, textiles, jewelry, sculptures, handmade cutlery and more. Art enthusiasts are also invited to take a peek into artist studios and garden settings, as well as browse the market.
Carol Bednarski, an organizer of Scattered Artists and an artist herself, said events like these are important to the art community because they can sometimes be the only way local artists can share and sell their works.
"They want to continue expressing themselves and being the artists that they are, and really, artists live for sharing their work," said Bednarski. "That's where we get all the affirmation, we get validation, we get sales which helps us continue to buy our supplies and continue to paint."
Over the past year, they started collecting emails from visitors of the three tours they've held, and so far, they collected over 800 emails with the number continuing to grow.
"We have no shortage of artists, just a shortage of opportunities to show art," she said. "We're just blown away by the enthusiasm and the support and the excitement."
Scattered artists will also have refreshments and snacks at the individual galleries, along with door prizes for visitors.
The event is free, and runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Aug. 24 and 25. For more information, visit https://scatteredartists.ca/.
