With the final vote tally complete yesterday (Oct. 28), the Courtenay-Comox riding has its new MLA elected - the B.C. Conservative Party’s Brennan Day.
Day beat incumbent, former NDP MLA Ronna-Rae Leonard by 92 votes.
"Every vote has now been counted, and we know the results. Congratulations to my opponent, Brennan Day, on his victory. Thank you to my campaign team, who worked tirelessly every day of the election,” said Leonard in a release.
Day received 13,481 votes, while Leonard received 13,389.
“I wish everyone at the Legislature - newly elected or re-elected - the best of luck in the upcoming session. We are facing real challenges in this province. As a citizen of British Columbia, I am counting on every single one of you to work hard to make things better for everyone in our shared home,” stated Leonard.
