2 in hospital after morning house fire in Victoria

Two people were sent to hospital after a house fire on Myrtle Avenue.

A house fire in the early morning of Tuesday, July 23 has sent two people who resided in the home to hospital.

According to the City of Victoria, firefighters responded to smoke in the 1500 block of Myrtle Avenue at around 6:40 a.m. where the fire was located in the basement area, and had travelled into the walls and into other parts of the home. 

Crews were on scene for about two hours and an investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.

It's unknown at this time what started at the fire.
