Three members of the Victoria Royals have been listed on the NHL Central Scouting final rankings ahead of the 2024 draft.
On Tuesday, April 16, the final scouting list was announced in which the Royals’ Nate Misskey was ranked 89th, Seth Fryer was listed 206th, and Ryan Tamelin was listed 29th amongst North American goaltenders.
Misskey is coming off his second season with the Royals after playing 44 games where he scored seven goals and added 27 assists. Over the 2023 off-season, he attended the Edmonton Oilers Development Camp as a reward for his “strong play”, according to a news release from the CHL.
Fryer, a Victoria native, came off his first season with one goal and another six assists for seven points over the 57 games he played.
Hailing from Invermere, Tamelin, a six-foot-eight net-minder, played one game with the Royals this season against the Saskatoon Blades, making 33 saves on 38 shots. He was named a finalist for the CSSHL U18 Prep Division Top Goaltender Award as he boasted a 13-4-0 record, a 2.82 GAA and a .913 save percentage during the 2023 to 2024 season.
The NHL draft is scheduled for June 28 to 29.
