3.6 magnitude earthquake moves residents from Victoria to Ladysmith

Just shy of 70 people, from Victoria to as far north as Ladysmith, report feeling the 'weak' earthquake

No damage was reported or is expected after a small earthquake Monday evening just off the southern coast of Vancouver Island.

The 3.6-magnitude earthquake, 18km southeast of Port Renfrew, was reportedly felt by residents on Aug. 18 at 7:17 p.m.

Just shy of 70 people, from Victoria to as far north as Ladysmith, reported feeling the earthquake with “weak” intensity according to Earthquakes Canada.
