Victoria’s Inner Harbour will come alive with reggae beats and Caribbean vibes at February’s inaugural Winter Lime event.
The Vancouver Island Caribbean Hub, a local organization that celebrates and promotes Caribbean arts and culture, will host DWTN Winter Lime at Ship Point on Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"In Trinidadian culture, 'liming' means relaxing, socializing and enjoying good company – and that’s exactly what DWTN Winter Lime is all about," the Hub said on its website.
The free, all-age get-together will boast Caribbean food, a market overflowing with unique goods, heated tents and a kids zone. A game zone will offer and teach traditional Caribbean board games, while DJs blast soca and reggae beats.
"Winter Lime is an opportunity to embrace Caribbean culture and community spirit, right here in Victoria," the Hub said in a news release. "This event is perfect for families looking to make the most of Family Day with food, music, games and warm hospitality."
