Starting on Tuesday, Oct. 1, BC Transit will stop selling legacy 10-ride tickets, as well as adult and student/senior monthly passes for fixed-route transit services in Greater Victoria.

Transit-users can instead use the Umo app or a re-loadable Umo card – available at BC Transit Umo retailers, online at ca.umopass.com or through Umo customer service – to pay for fares.

"Legacy tickets and pass fare products will be accepted until used up," said BC Transit in a news release. "Cash and the Province of British Columbia’s BC Bus Pass will continue to be accepted."

Through Umo, BC Transit will continue to offer ProPASS, U-PASS, Youth U-PASS and EcoPASS fare products.

BC Transit has established a new handyDART fare-product vendor network to continue to sell sheets of 10 single-ride tickets, and adult and student/senior monthly passes, to riders using handyDART services or a combination of handyDART and fixed-route services.
