Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are investigating a robbery that occurred at the Scotiabank branch on Beacon Avenue Monday afternoon.
Multiple witnesses reported seeing a heavy police presence at the bank, with at least three police vehicles rushing to the scene around 2 p.m.
"We stopped by a little after 2:30 to use the ATM," said one witness who wished to remain anonymous. "There was a handwritten sign up saying the bank was closed due to a robbery situation. There were police members inside."

The Scotiabank branch remained closed for the rest of the afternoon as police conducted their investigation. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
