A B.C. police watchdog is investigating after a marked Central Saanich police vehicle struck a cyclist on Tuesday (May 21).

The Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIO) said on Friday the incident occurred on Wallace Drive around 10 p.m. on May 21.

The IIO, which investigates all police-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, was notified of the incident the same day.

The police-oversight agency is asking anyone with relevant information or video footage related to the incident to contact the IIO witness line at 1-855-446-8477 or go through contact form on the iiobc.ca.
