Don’t make plans to go to Butchart Gardens at the end of this month.
The gardens will be closed from Jan. 22 to Feb. 4. to give staff some additional time off to rest after the holiday season.
The magic of Christmas kicked off with the light-up event on Dec. 1 and the annual holiday celebration runs until Saturday (Jan. 6) with thousands of twinkling lights and beautiful displays.
According to Butchart Gardens CEO Dave Cowen, Christmas is a very busy season for the team, and staff work hard for a couple of months to illuminate the gardens.
Annual passes that are valid while the gardens are closed will be extended by two weeks.
The gardens will start the 2024 regular season on Jan. 7.
