A traffic advisory is in place for Royal Bay as the Royal Bay Crit takes place Aug. 2.

Royal Bay drivers will have to share the road this weekend as the Royal Bay Crit returns Saturday, Aug. 2.

About the Ride Cycling is set to bring a day of bike races to the Royal Bay community, as cyclists take laps around the 1.1 km track.

As a result, the City of Colwood has issued a traffic advisory for the community, as the bike race will take place on Quarry St, Producers Way, Ryder Hesjedal Way, and Tradewinds Ave.

Drivers are asked to obey all traffic signs, reduce speed, and use alternative routes when available.

The Royal Bay Crit is scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m., with a quick intro clinic, and the final race will wrap up at 1:45 p.m. The traffic advisory will be in place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those interested in participating can learn more about the event and register at abouttheride.ca/royal-bay-crit/
