If you had fishing gear or more stolen from you, the RCMP might have it.

On June 7, the BC RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Shiprider Program conducted patrols in the Haro Strait and Juan de Fuca Strait.

While in the Ogden Point area – waters south of Victoria and Esquimalt – police boarded a vessel, recovered stolen property and arrested a male. An investigation into a series of stolen properties is ongoing, in partnership with the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP.

Among items confirmed stolen, investigators also recovered items believed to be stolen – however, the owner is unknown. The BC RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the owner of the following items: fishing gear, marine safety gear, a white dinghy and an outboard engine.

If you have any information that can help identify an owner, contact Const. Adrian White of the BC RCMP Pacific Shiprider Program at 250-405-7110 or adrian.white@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
