Cyclist hospitalized after being struck in Victoria on slick streets

Drivers and cyclists urged to be cautious as rain falls

A cyclist suffered injuries and was sent to hospital after a crash Monday (July 24) afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Douglas Street and Princess Avenue just before 4 p.m. The road conditions were slick as rain intensified in the afternoon.

Victoria Police Department officers on scene confirmed the cyclist was injured after being hit by a driver. The crash is now under investigation.

Rain is expected to continue into Tuesday and drivers are urged to use cautious after months of hot and dry weather.
