A Cyclone is set to touch down in Esquimalt Friday.
People in Vic West and Esquimalt and mariners near McLoughlin Point and the Victoria Harbour entrance can expect to hear and see a Royal Canadian Air Force CH-148 Cyclone helicopter land and take off from Work Point at CFB Esquimalt, on Aug. 18, according to a Maritime Forces Pacific news release.
People accessing the Work Point property can expect temporary traffic rerouting, road closures and loss of parking.
The demonstration is part of a demonstration for the Royal Canadian Navy’s Raven Program.
The national six-week Raven program held at CFB Esquimalt is for Indigenous Peoples from across Canada and designed to build bridges with Indigenous communities offering potential part-time or full-time employment with the armed forces.
Scheduled for 12:30 p.m. the demonstration isn’t expected last more than three hours.
