Victoria police investigate downtown bank robbery

Police responded to a reported theft at the downtown CIBC.

The downtown CIBC bank was cordoned off this morning as police responded to what they say was a bank robbery.

According to the Victoria Police Department, on Aug. 19, just before 11 a.m., they responded to a reported theft in the 1100-block of Douglas Street.

"The investigation is ongoing, and officers are actively searching for a suspect. No weapons were involved," noted an emailed statement from VicPD.
