A Dodge Ram pickup truck collided with a light pole near the 3000 block of Leigh Road on Jan. 26 at approximately 2:30 p.m.

West Shore RCMP responded to multiple reports of the pickup truck driving erratically near Florence Lake Road in Langford minutes before it crashed.

The driver was identified as a 29-year-old male.

He was suspected of being impaired by drugs and was arrested for dangerous operation and impaired driving of a motor vehicle.

The driver was released by way of an Undertaking with an upcoming court date regarding the dangerous and impaired driving, as well as a 90-day driving prohibition.

The 29-year-old was the sole occupant of the vehicle and suffered non-life-threatening injuries for which he received medical.

“West Shore RCMP thanks the multiple witnesses who called police to report this dangerous driving right away. We are continuing to investigate the additional reports received,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.
