Emergency crews have responded to a fire outside Victoria's Royal Jubilee Hospital.
In footage shared by residents on Facebook after 2 p.m. on Friday (April 18), a bush on Richmond Road is seen ablaze. Police and fire crews can also be seen in attendance.
An eyewitness told Victoria News he and his wife saw a man lighting a fire in the bushes as they were driving on Richmond Road towards Fort Street.
"As we approached, I saw a man crouching in the bushes, lighting a fire that was quickly spreading to the cedar hedge," he said. "I parked and ran up to try to put it out, but it was too late."
The witness says that when he challenged the suspect about why he started the fire, he ran off. The witness then called 911.
According to the witness, the fire was extinguished by the fire department.
Victoria Fire Department and Victoria Police were both approached for more information.
