Final project pieces wrap up on Blanshard corridor in Victoria

Work the other direction set to start later this year

Close enough.

Ongoing road work slated to finish in spring is winding down to start summer with a final mop-up along a section of Blanshard Street in downtown Victoria.

The project from Caledonia Avenue to Humboldt Street now features new road paving, new left turn lanes, protected bike lanes, intersection and crosswalk improvements, traffic signal improvements, new accessible parking and loading zones, landscaping and improved lighting.

Prior to this work, Blanshard was one of the highest collision corridors in Victoria, the city said in a resident newsletter, offering an image from its archives alongside one of the newest versions.
