Voting stations are open and Greater Victoria residents are out in full force, casting their votes before B.C. polls close at 7 p.m.
At the Victoria polling station at Kirk Hall in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church on Douglas Street, voters reported there was almost no line, and people were "in and out" in five minutes.
Among the few voters, most said affordability and cost of living are the most pressing issues facing Canadians today, and they are casting their votes with hopes that the next government will work to make life cheaper for Canadians.
"This isn't the country I grew up with," said one voter, also mentioning he "wants more affordability" in the future.
Elections Canada will begin counting votes after polls close in each province, with the Maritime provinces set to begin counting at 4:30 p.m. PST, followed by the Ontario and Quebec at 6:30 p.m., and finally B.C. at 7 p.m.
