The Hawaii Mars flies in formation with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds air demonstration team over the Saanich Inlet on Sunday, Aug. 11.

While there won’t be any acrobatic feats, the famed Canadian Forces Snowbirds are set to soar over Greater Victoria next month.

On July 22 the Snowbirds will take to to the skies in a series of passes with formation changes.

With no sterile air display area set up the team cannot do aerobatics, but they’re set to soar past several times with formation changes.

“It’s not our full airshow routine, but when nine jets slice the sky in tight formation… you’ll definitely know we were there,” the team said. “Scope out your favourite vantage point, get your cameras ready, and show us how Victoria looks up!”

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds team expects to release more details soon.

Since the June 16 announcement on social media, fans are weighing in online – primarily with heavily punctuated sentiments such as “Hurray!!! Thanks for coming to YYJ!” and “Can’t wait for the details! Been waiting a long time for this! A little bit of action is better than not seeing you at all!”

The last time the national aerobatics team treated the region to a fly-by was when the Hawaii Mars made its final flight landing in the Pat Bay in August 2024.
