A man was arrested after allegedly exposing himself on the Tsawwassen ferry to Swartz Bay at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 11.

Sidney and North Saanich RCMP were notified, and officers met ferry staff when the boat docked.

The man was arrested for committing an indecent act and was released with a future court date.

Police drove the man to a shelter because of the extreme weather conditions.

“Sidney RCMP would like to thank the actions of the BC Ferries staff. They dealt with this situation in a manner that ensured the safety of passengers and facilitated officers getting onto the boat quickly once it docked,” states Const. Tim Cosgrove, media relations officer for Sidney and North Saanich RCMP.

There is no threat to the public, and this case is still under investigation, according to police.
