Victoria police are calling out for dash cam footage after a motorcyclist was killed in a Tuesday (Jan. 23) crash.

Police believe the motorcycle driver, who was travelling northbound on Douglas Street near Pembroke, veered into oncoming traffic around 4 p.m. striking a southbound pick-up truck.

Bystanders and B.C. Emergency Health Services paramedics tried to save the driver who died at scene, VicPD said in a news release.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and those affected by the incident,” the statement reads.

Douglas near Pembroke Street was closed until nearly 10 p.m. as VicPD traffic analysts gathered evidence.

Police are asking witnesses who have not already spoken with police, or anyone with video footage of the crash to call the report desk at 250-995-7654 ext. 1.
