West Shore RCMP is investigating a series of "disturbing incidents" involving pedestrians who were shot at with BB guns in Langford.

Across Thursday evening (Aug. 28), between 9:40 p.m. and 10:44 p.m., police received four separate reports.

  • 9:40 p.m. – A male victim reported being struck by a BB round while walking in the area of Alouette Drive and Glen Lake Road. The shot came from a passing vehicle carrying four male youths, said a RCMP news release.
  • 10:00 p.m. – In the 2100 block of Bellamy Rd., a home was struck by a BB round. A witness saw a black SUV leaving the area immediately afterwards.
  • 10:04 p.m. – A female victim reported being hit by a BB round fired from a black SUV in the 800 block of Brock Ave. The vehicle was then seen heading westbound on Brock Avenue.
  • 10:44 p.m. – Another male victim was struck by a BB round fired from a black SUV in the 800 block of Brock Avenue.

West Shore RCMP officers immediately conducted patrols in the area and have since located and seized the suspect vehicle – a black 2009 Ford Escape.

The suspects, who are believed to be three to four male youths, remain unidentified.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking residents in the affected areas to review their home surveillance between 9:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 28, as video may have captured the suspects or vehicle.

Anyone with information, or who witnessed any of these incidents but has not yet spoken to police, is asked to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
