Police say there is no risk to the public two weeks after a shooting closed the Galloping Goose Trail in Saanich overnight.
On March 11, a male went to a local hospital with a gunshot wound, prompting a police investigation. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, police said the day after the shooting.
Saanich police closed off a portion of the Galloping Goose Trail as part of the investigation.
Police now say the shooting happened on a private property and was an isolated incident, adding there is no risk to the public.
Communications advisor Jason Hallman didn’t say where the shooting happened, but the portion of the trail that was closed off near McKenzie Avenue is close to two schools.
