On Tuesday, July 16, Oak Bay police arrested a man on charges for breaking and entering after three separate reports of the man acting suspiciously around Oak Bay residences.

Officers of the Oak Bay Police Department (OBPD) responded to a call on July 15 of a man attempting to get into a home on Nottingham Road. While investigating the incident, police received a second call in the same neighbourhood of a man matching the first call's description in another residents backyard.

"The man fled the area when advised the police were being contacted and OBPD was unable to locate the suspicious man," noted a release from the police department.

At around 7:30 a.m. on July 16, police attended a call on Cadboro Bay Road where a man matching the descriptions from the first two incidents was allegedly located inside a residence by the homeowner.

Police attended the scene and they say they arrested "the unhoused male" who was held for bail on charges of break and enter.

"Residents are asked to be aware of suspicious activity in their area and to call police as soon as possible to report suspicious activity or persons," noted the release.
