An outage has left 1,800 Victoria and Saanich residents without power on Tuesday, June 11.

According to BC Hydro, over 1,800 are facing power outages in the Gorge-Tillicum area in Victoria, and Strawberry Vale in Saanich at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11.

The BC Hydro website says the outage is due to a "tree down across our wires" and crews are assigned and working on a solution.

Earlier in the morning, around 10 a.m., B.C. Hydro says a motor vehicle incident caused another outage near Quadra Village in Victoria, which affected about 180 people.
