Paparazzi Nightclub in Victoria is opening a second location in 2025 at 1415 Broad St., just around the corner from its current location at 642 Johnson St.

Paparazzi Nightclub will perform an encore in 2025, adding a second club in the former Victoria Event Centre (VEC) space at 1415 Broad St.

"Victoria, we are thrilled to announce we are opening a second location. Introducing Encore by Paparazzi," the Victoria club announced on social media Wednesday (Nov. 13).

"At Encore, weekends will come alive with live DJs and a spacious dance floor, all while delivering the signature classic Paparazzi vibes that you have come to love."

Paparazzi Nightclub, which has long catered to the LGBTQ+ community, was formerly known as Prism Lounge and owned by long-time gay rights activist Gary Penny until he sold the bar in 2007. Since renovations in 2008, the business has veered towards being an all-inclusive venue.

VEC was located at 1415 Broad St. for just over 20 years and closed its doors on Oct. 31 as the landlords could no longer subsidize the space for the multipurpose arts venue.

In the Instagram post, Paparazzi gave a glimmer of hope for former VEC-goers that Encore will cater to the local arts scene, struggling with a slew of venue losses in the past few months including Hermann's Upstairs and now Quadratic Sound halting shows due to zoning issues.

"During the week, we will be committed to supporting the local arts scene by hosting a variety of live shows, showcasing both new talents and local favourites in this iconic venue," read the post from Paparazzi.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our landlords for their unwavering support, which enables us to keep this space open and thriving for Victoria night life and the vibrant arts community."
