Pearson College UWC student Chau Anh Ngo will represent Vietnam at a "prestigious" economic competition in Hong Kong.

A second-year student of Pearson College UWC will be one of five global students to represent Vietnam at the "prestigious" International Economics Olympiad in Hong Kong.

Chau Anh Ngo will be competing in the economics category of the competition, representing Vietnam among 37 other countries that will be there.

“It means a lot to me,” said Ngo in a news release. “To be allowed to participate in such a big event where I can learn from peers and professors in the field and to challenge myself with new knowledge on economics, finance, and business could not have made it without the immense support from my econ teacher Samuel and my advisor Zoe and I look forward to bringing the experience from this competition to my Pearson friends and teachers.”

The event, which is supported by Nobel Prize winner Eric Maskin, aims to challenge, unite, and reward young people through testing their understanding of financial literacy, economics, and business.

The competition will take place from July 22 to July 31.
