A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Sooke on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred in the 6900 block of Sooke Road, near Tominny Road, at 5:30 a.m.
Emergency Health Services and the Sooke Fire Department responded and made efforts to resuscitate the woman. However, she did not survive.
Sooke Road was temporarily closed while an RCMP collision analyst attended to assist in the investigation.
The vehicle’s driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police.
