Police arrest suspect after 'suspicious' Sidney house fire

Police have arrested one suspect after a "suspicious" fire broke out in the 8900 block of Lochside Dr in Sidney, on Tuesday, July 31.

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP responded to a report of a residence on fire just before 2 p.m. The blaze required the response from North Saanich, Sidney and Central Saanich Fire Departments.

The cause of the fire was deemed suspicious and one suspect was located and arrested at the scene and the investigation is ongoing

The area was closed to traffic for a period of time to allow for police and fire investigators to collect evidence.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at 250-656-3931.
